![]() Background Stephen was born in Surabaya on 15 September 1951. He married Susana (Sianny) at the age of 27 years and has been blessed with twin daughters, Stephanie and Stella. Stephen arrived in Sydney in 1976 to further his studies. Life Experiences As a teenager, Stephen enjoyed serving other people and he spent a substantial amount of time observing the lives of Ministers who served God through serving others. From this, his desire to serve God developed. Stephen’s desire later became a reality when God called him to serve as a Pastor and in 1998 Stephen was ordained by JKI International. Stephen left his career of 19 years in Medical Science. Stephen has been blessed with a variety of experiences throughout his life. In the community, he has had a significant involvement with the Scouts Movement in Indonesia. He has served as a Leader with the Indonesian ranking of ‘Pembina Mahir’ and worked with youths in the Juvenile Prison in Surabaya. Stephen has been a member of the Catholic Church, Protestant denomination (Presbyterian) and Methodist denomination (Uniting Church). Today, he serves under the Mennonite church, which in Indonesia is known as JKI, GKMI and GITJ. Qualifications Stephen's holds the following theological qualifications:- Diploma in Biblical Studies (Syd), Certificate in Christian Counselling (Syd), Master of Arts in Missiology (Ind), Doctor in Ministry (Ind), Doctor in Christian Counselling (USA). Prior to obtaining his theological qualifications, Stephen studied at the Medical School in Jakarta, Indonesia.
